Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid took to the beaches of Mexico on New Year’s Day to soak up the sun.

The pop star, 25, and the model, 21, looked relaxed as they enjoyed their down time, seen cosying up on a sun lounger together.

Dua rocked a brightly coloured bikini, featuring a plunging top and thong bottoms.

At one point she covered it with a primrose yellow sarong.

She piled her windswept dark locks on top of her head, and added yellow shades and hoop earrings to the ensemble.

Anwar, meanwhile, relaxed in tank top and board shorts.

The pair have slipped to Mexico for their New Year stay – currently able to travel from Anwar’s native America, as long as they journeyed by plane under COVID-19 restrictions.

The pair were likely subject to temperature checks and other health screenings on arrival.

This comes after Anwar – brother of supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid – had said that he would ‘absolutely not’ be taking the COVID-19 vaccine.

He changed his mind last week, saying: ‘Im not “anti-vax” I think everyone has to be careful with each vaccine individually looking at positive and possible negative effects.’

Hadid – who has been diagnosed with Lyme disease alongside former Real Housewife Of Beverly Hills mother Yolanda and sister Bella – said his compromised immune system plays a part in the matter.

‘I have taken vaccines before but as someone who has had a compromised immune system I want to continue to learn about the many ways I can protect myself and others,’ said Anwar, who used to date Kendall Jenner.

‘Never meant to offend anyone with my words, and I am so grateful for all the frontline workers and doctors and the powerful work they have done during this time.’

He continued, ‘I’m listening and I’m all about the conversation. My response was not to make a stance it was honestly just a thought, but I cant expect you all 2 know where my heart and head is at and that’s where I went wrong.’
