In an open letter, Lorde confirms that the new album is called “Solar Power”

Lorde’s return caused a huge buzz on social media! And after showing a new version of herself on the cover of “Solar Power”, her new track, the New Zealand singer shared an open letter to fans, in which she confirms the name of the new album, the namesake of the new lead-single, and tells a little about what we can expect from the artist’s third and sunny studio album. The text, however, is dated June 21st. Was it the spoiler of the album release? It is a divine pleasure to finally present to you my third studio album, ‘SOLAR POWER’. The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt to immortalize the deep and transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors. In times of anguish, sadness, deep or confused love, I look for answers in the natural world. I learned to breathe out and tune in, she wrote, explaining the concept. Photo: disclosure Lorde A Cano was written and produced by the singer and Jack Antonoff, working partner on her previous album, Melodrama (2017). She follows her text saying that she is presenting a new facet of Lorde that, until then, was not very well known to the public. “There is someone I want you to meet. Your feet are bare all the time. She is sexy, playful, wild and free. She is a modern girl in a dead bikini, in touch with her past and her future, vibrating at the highest level when summer comes. Your skin glows, your lovers are many. I’m completely obsessed with her and soon you will too”, she adds. Lord. The cover photo, which caused the biggest buzz by showing the singer in a bikini, viewed from the bottom up, was taken by her friend, Ophelia. Lorde sought a mild concept, with an air of unpretentious home production. “Ophelia took the cover photo, lying in the sand as I jumped on it, both of us laughing. The director who made my first music video, Joel, helped me create the videos, building a whole cinematic universe that I can’t wait for you to see. I’ve done something that encapsulates where I’m from – my family, my friends, my outdoor life, my constant ruminations and my endless search for the divine,” she explained. Lord. Photo: Divulgao It is worth remembering that the New Zealander made it clear in her letter that there are clues and many news for the new era that is beginning. “There are a lot more details to come – a truly comical amount of detail, honestly. You can look at the natural calendar for clues,’ he said. “I’m trying to hear more of what’s out there, and the vibe that I realized you’re ready for this, that you need this. I want this album to be your summer companion, the one you pump up on your way to the beach. The one that stays on your skin like a tan as the months cool again. Today is the only solar eclipse of the year, did you know that? It feels right,” he concluded, declaring his love for fans. Lord. Photo: Instagram
