This E3 2021 has a very special flavor for a lot of reasons. First, this is the first edition of the show since the cancellation last year, due to the coronavirus health crisis. In addition, this is the first time that this famous world video game show has been broadcast entirely digitally. And finally, this is the first E3 since the arrival of the new generation of consoles offered by Sony with its PS5 and Microsoft with its new Xbox Series X. Moreover, Microsoft has even more things to prove, since this is the first E3 following the takeover of Bethesda by the American giant. Thus, if Ubisoft was already able to talk yesterday with its Ubisoft Forward and the Summer Game Fest surprised everyone, especially with the announcement of Elden Ring, this joint presentation between Microsoft and Bethesda was one of the biggest expectations of players. And today at 7 p.m., we were able to discover a whole bunch of new games thanks to the joint conference between Microsoft and Bethesda. We come back to all the announcements that must be remembered.
Starfield gets a trailer and a release date
Starfield is without a doubt one of Bethesda’s most anticipated games. The space odyssey presented for the first time at E3 2018 has indeed been talked about insistently since the beginning of the year, especially with a whole bunch of leaks and rumors concerning it. Some potential leakers also indicated that the game would be available this year … And finally, we had the heart of it today, during this conference, while at the end of an epic trailer, we finally had a date: Starfield will not be available before November 11, 2022, and it will be Xbox exclusive! In other words, we will have to wait another year and a half before finding out.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl is entitled to its date
Another exclusive for Xbox: Stalker 2 is entitled to a gameplay trailer. The famous license will therefore be back, and these first gameplay images are particularly interesting: we are in a post-apocalyptic atmosphere, all in old-fashioned FPS mode. As a reminder, the first game was released in 2007, so we had to wait more than a decade to finally be entitled to a sequel. The game will be available from April 28, 2022.
Back For Blood is talking about him again
Warner Bros. Left 4 Dead-like is also entitled to a new trailer to present its gameplay a little more in depth, despite the fact that it is entitled to a fully dedicated conference just after that of Microsoft. What a little more hyper for players with its co-op, PvP, etc. In short, pure fun from October 12th. It will be available from the day of its release on the Gamepass.
Jack Sparrow dans Sea of Thieves
It seemed quite logical that the most famous pirate of pop culture integrates the best current pirate game: the famous Jack Sparrow, main character of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, integrates Sea of Thieves. For the occasion, we were treated to a very special trailer for a new story called A Pirate’s Life, which will be available on June 22.
Battlefield 2042 gets a new trailer
We were able to discover it a few days ago, but for this Xbox presentation, we were treated to a new gameplay trailer for the next Battlefield, something to hyper fans a few weeks before its release.. One thing is certain: the emphasis once again is on environments and weather changes, so these should be of great importance in the game and in gameplay. As a reminder, Battlefield 2042 will be available on October 22.
Psychonauts 2 is one of the potential little nuggets that a lot of players have been waiting for a long time. Tim Schafer’s new game is presented a little more thanks to a new trailer, enough to raise the hyper thanks to a little gameplay. It will be available on August 25, 2021 on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series, and available upon release on Gamepass.
Jumpside presents its next game, Somerville
The next project of the creator of Limbo and Inside, Dino Patti, will be called Somerville and was presented at this conference. It will be available on GamePass Day One and from 2022. It seems to take a lot of the characteristics that made the success of its previous games, namely a very marked artistic direction and a very contemplative gameplay.
Halo Infinite is entitled to a new trailer
Following last year’s debacle, many gamers were waiting for news from Halo Infinite. And obviously, a lot of work has been done on the graphics of the game, because it appears much cleaner than last year. Fortunately, Halo seems to have taken the right path and this trailer will allow fans of the universe so appreciated by them to wait a little longer. The good news is that we were entitled to a release fork: the game will be released this winter. We also had the right to a gameplay trailer for the Halo Infinite multiplayer! In short, the fans of the series were delighted.
Diablo 2 Resurrected is coming September 23
The highly anticipated remaster / remake of Diablo II benefits from a new trailer, which reveals that the game will offer both 8-player co-op and 4K 60 FPS, and of course all of the original Diablo II adventure in a completely improved version. It will be available from September 23, and will obviously be available with the Gamepass.
A Plague Tale Requiem introduces itself
A Plague Tale Innocence was one of those little nuggets of recent years, and it is entitled to its sequel called Requiem. A trailer that does not show masses of it, but rather makes you want, especially for all those who have been able to enjoy the original game. Okay, so far, the date is a long way off: the game will be available in 2022, and no release fork. In short, we will have to be patient.
Shredders, a new game from Snow
A new Snowboard game for snowboard fans: we got a new trailer for a game we weren’t expecting: Shredders, from Foam Punch studio. It will be available from December 2021 and will also be in the Gamepass.
Replaced, entre pixel-art et HD
A new game mixing both pixel-art and HD (a bit like Octopath Traveler) is presented during this conference : this is Replaced, and it will be released in 2022. It seems to benefit from a very dark cyberpunk universe, with side-scrolling 2D gameplay. A potential little nugget for years to come!
Eiyuden Chronicle Rising is talking about him
New game from the creators of Suikoden, Eiyuden Chronicle Rising, presents itself a little more : this is one of Kickstarter’s biggest hits in recent years, and without a doubt one of the most anticipated JRPGs out there today. It will be available and on the Gamepass from 2022.
The Outer Worlds 2 unveils itself
We suspected it, but it’s now official: The Outer Worlds will be entitled to its sequel. The game was announced thanks to an epic trailer that makes you want to. No date for the moment, but we know that the game will be available through the Gamepass.
Forza Horizon 5 has been announced
The Forza games are without a doubt some of the best racing sims on the market. Today, for this Microsoft / Bethesda conference, we got a new gameplay trailer for the new license game: Forza Horizon 5. A game that still seems splendid, as usual with the license. In addition, it is once again an open world car game. Forza Horizon 5 will be available on November 9th.
The “One More Thing” of the conf: a new game Arkane
And while we thought the conference was over, Phil Spencer was able to reward us with a famous “one more thing”: this is the next game from Arkane Studios, which we know in particular for the Dishonored games, but also Deathloop, which has still not been released.. For the occasion, we are entitled to a trailer that shows an adventure playable both solo or in co-op, this new game seems to be a kind of Left 4 Dead (again?), But vampire version. Named Redfall, it will be available from summer 2022.
